ADT Inc., a unit of TYCO Fire & Security, is one of the US's top provider of electronic security systems. ADT sells and installs alarms for Homes, Government, and Businesses all around the country.

CHALLENGE

With millions of customers all over the country, ADT implemented a complex database cluster system to track all installations of security systems. As installations were taking place and new orders being taken, any changes taking place with any customer, had to be processed real time. Any delays in the order, scheduling or installation processes could cost thousands of dollars in losses to the company.

SOLUTION

ADT chose TIBCO Software Inc for the Enterprise Service Bus as the backbone for the real time transaction processing. The ESB would integrate all the databases as well as any back end legacy systems to ADT's CRM system, assuring consistency throughout the order fulfillment process.

As part of the Integration solution team, EA Technologies responsibilities were:

• Design and Architecture of database connectors for integration to the TIBCO Bus
• Design of Functional requirements for business logic used in the integration points.
• Define and implement support structure using TIBCO Hawk as well as Open Source tools to capture exceptions and any failures in the system
• Project management for team of designers and developers of the lifecycle of the project.
